Harmonizer

A harmonizer allows one to change the pitch of a sound without changing its speed. In this way, a voice may be made to sound like a small mouse, a large whale or even Donald Duck.

A harmonizer may also be used on a voice in a harmonic choir (thus its name). This effect is used in many pop melodies.

How does Harmonizer work?
A harmonizer splits the sound into many small pieces, and each of these bits is played slower or faster depending on whether one wants to move the pitch up or down. The pieces are then reassembled in such a way as to maintain the orignal duration of the sound.

Values that may be set:
Interval controls how much the pitch is to be moved up or down.
Mix determines how much of the treated sound is to be used in relation to the original sound.

Here is an excerpt
from a song that has been treated with a harmonizer:

Donald Duck

But Donald wasn't always Donald - click here to hear the original.
