Buzz

Using Buzz allows one to simulate different vowels sounds.

How does Buzz work?
Buzz makes a sound that resembles that which comes right from the vocal chords (buzz). This sound is sent through two bandpass filters, which simulate the throat and mouth cavities. By situating the filters in a certain way, one can make the formants that characterize the different vowel sounds.

Values that may be set:
Amplitude determines the strength of the sound.
Frequency determines the frequency of the fundamental tone. This determines the pitch.
Formant 1 determines the frequency of the first, strongest formant.
Formant 2 determines the frequency of the second, weakest formant.

It is not easy to set the formants to achieve good vowel sounds.
